Admissions

General overview

Glebe is a large secondary, special academy for students aged 11-19.  Originally, the school catered for students with moderate learning difficulties but now Glebe meets the needs of a more complex, educationally diverse student group. From September 2018 the school has had a specialist provision class (The Den) for small number of students with severe learning difficulties and additional complex needs.

Admissions process

Admissions to Glebe School are governed by the Special Educational Needs & Disability Code of Practice. Students must have an Education, Health & Care Plan that indicates a placement at Glebe may be appropriate before admission will be considered.

The Bromley SEN Department will then ask us whether or not we feel that we are able to meet your child’s needs. To determine this, your referral is considered by senior staff and where possible, we will visit your child at their current school. Once we have decided whether or not we think we are a suitable placement for your child, we will then inform the local authority of the outcome. Following confirmation that the local authority will accept financial responsibility for the placement, a transition plan is then developed with a mutually agreed start date. The decision to place a child at Glebe is made by the Bromley SEN placement panel.

We hold regular tours of the school and encourage all prospective parents/carers to visit. Attendance is by appointment only - to see available dates and book your place please use our online booking system at the bottom of this page. If you need assistance, please contact our school office.
