Visitor Safeguarding Protocols

Visitors to Glebe

At Glebe, in the interest of protecting our pupils, we operate a strict policy for entry into the school.

Signing in & Out: Before entering the school, all visitors will be asked to sign in on our online system, ‘Inventry’, and wear a photo visitor badge in a Visitor lanyard. This must be visible at all times whilst on-site. Once signed in, visitors will be met at reception by the relevant member of staff. At the end of the school visit, visitors will be asked to sign out and the photo visitor badge returned.

Visiting professionals who are in regulated activity, (those who are working directly with or may come into contact with our pupils), will be asked for photo ID and Enhanced DBS information (and where relevant for ongoing unsupervised visitors, a barred list check). All information is recorded on our single central record.

Mobile Phones/Photography: Mobiles phones are not permitted in the presence of pupils once entering the school and the taking of photos is strictly prohibited.

Communication with Pupils: Visitors should maintain a professional approach at all times and should not be alone with pupils unless agreed by the school for professional meetings (once all safeguarding checks are in place).

Reporting Concerns: Should you witness anything that causes you concern this should be reported directly to the Designated Safeguard Lead. (Names/photos of DSLs are in reception), but please ask a member of staff.

Emergency Evacuation Safety Procedures: These should be observed and action taken as requested by members of staff should a situation occur.
