Snowdon Trip 2019 -update!
Wednesday afternoon: in very misty conditions, the group reaches the summit of Snowdon! The picture above shows them outside the cafe a little way down from the top of the mountain. Well done to all the staff and students involved!
Wednesday 11:30: a short break at around 760m high, near the Clogwyn train stop. Weather is mostly dry, but breezy.
Wednesday 9am: the walk is underway, and the most difficult part is behind them!
Wednesday morning, 06:30: an early start for the big day! The students will today be climbing Mount Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales!
Tuesday afternoon: the students had a lovely walk up to Cwm Idwal today. Heavy rain at the start but it cleared up as they reached the beach at Llyn Idwal.
Year 11 students on this year's trip to Snowdonia in North Wales arrived safely at the Gwern Gof Isaf campsite yesterday, and are now (Tuesday morning) checking their equipment before setting off on a walk of the Ogwen Valley.
