Glebe School Board of Trustees

Since Glebe became a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) in September 2017, there is now a Board of Trustees, rather than a Board Governors as all trustees are registered in an official capacity as Directors with Companies House, although their role remains the same, namely to ensure that students are safe, their achievements are celebrated and that the school’s resources are used as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Trustees are lay people who bring their particular skills and experience to the school and they are appointed by the school and meet termly to monitor the well being and progress of the young people in the school. They attend regular training sessions so that they are well informed about new developments and they have a responsibility to ensure that the school is financially well-managed.

Glebe School has a long and distinguished history as an outstanding school with a specially designed curriculum that responds to the personal individual needs of our students, enabling them to have a healthy, happy and safe environment in which to reach their full potential so that by the time they leave the school, they feel confident about leading independent, responsible and successful lives. Central to this is the role of highly dedicated and specialist staff with access to a range of facilities and resources which encourage students to gain independence and confidence in achieving their goals through an individual holistic approach.

While the Headteacher is responsible for the day-to-day life of the school, the Trustees are responsible for overseeing the whole ethos of the school, including its relationships with students, parents, carers and the community. The current Chair of the Board is Mr. Geoff Parsons. He can be contacted by email at gparsons@glebe.bromley.sch.uk
